Paradoxically, we feel more whole when we see ourselves as part of something bigger…

On a recent trip, I began to ponder why that is:

Inputs and outputs. Vibrations emanating and vibrations vibrating.

When we talk, we forget that our output itself is an input: we can hear ourselves talk.

When we meditate with an “om” we can feel the vibrations of our voice inside our head…

The technologist will say a human is a sort of machine: with inputs and outputs…

…but the technologist is narrow minded.

Our eyes take in inputs, our mouths outputs, our taste buds input.

But what takes in what our senses say?

A nerve talks to a neuron talks to another neuron.

Every single cell in our brain, in our body, pulls and pushes. Produces and consumes. Says and hears.

Their collective action,

…that energy and flux,

is what we are.

We aren’t the matter that lives in between this eternal push and pull.

We are that push and pull…

What are we but tiny neurons, talking to each other over the synapses of the medium in which we live,

…over the air…

…saying and listening, making and taking…

…all of our energies are constantly making up something bigger.

Like the cells in our bodies:

…in this world how could we ever hope to understand the workings of a mind

…that is the sum of a billion other living souls?
